The Grill👨‍🍳

The Grill is the newer restaurant replacing the storied Four Seasons restaurant in the Seagram’s Building, designed by famous architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The design, setback from the street, was a novel concept, affording a large courtyard and presenting a more statuesque upright structure, which became a model for future architecture. The Four Seasons Restaurant was a testament, new and old, to mid-century architecture and dining. I love the design of the building and the interior of the restaurant. I was hoping The Grill retained the mid-century design aesthetic and high-quality menu as well.

Initial appetizers…

I always enjoy a table side salad preparation.
Butter lettuce with avocado and crab.
Filet
Bone in ribeye.

Bruce would also join post his Broadway show..

Apparently, the restaurant had a very deep selection of Chateau d’Yquem. Without a doubt, the finest desert wine in the world is also known as liquid gold.

A tasting flight of 4 decades was in order.

Sadly, I never visited the Four Seasons, a place that has always been on my list, but The Grill was a worthwhile visit.

Another great evening of fine dining.
And of course a nightcap at Sean’s.
